The art of governing is not easy even in the worst of circumstances, we have no doubt. But ideal governance is something we citizens of the world can all dream about though we all have very different ideas on the substance of governing. But the end result of the “ideal” would, one hopes, be that society would be the better for it. That there would be well being of all in that society.
The question becomes, who is best qualified to govern Canada at this time? Today we heard our friends, the media, questioning Mr. Harper on why they were only allowed 4 questions, and those apparently “planted” in the audience. Mr. Harper refused to answer and left the stage.
Meanwhile Mr. Ignatieff and Mr. Layton gladly take all questions coming at them and are apparently available to the press throughout the campaign. Of these two gentlemen it is easy to see who is most comfortable and transparent in his ability to talk with the public. Mr. Layton has the “common touch”, if you will. He is likeable. He is approachable. He has the interest of the normal citizen at heart.
Quoting Plato
"Until philosophers rule as kings or those who are now called kings and leading men genuinely and adequately philosophize, that is, until political power and philosophy entirely coincide, while the many natures who at present pursue either one exclusively are forcibly prevented from doing so, cities will have no rest from evils,... nor, I think, will the human race."
Voters should really consider who is going to govern Canada in the best interests of the MAJORITY OF Canadians.
